karpsmom Light Tomb is an album in the truest sense. A complete journey from start to finish. Spaciously produced, with lush, alluring guitar work, gripping drum work, and dynamic varied vocals that shift between dramatic, heartfelt cleans to blackened growled harsh vocals. The album perfectly captures the space themes and vibe. I find myself enjoying it more and more with each listen.

Brutalist_Receptacle I would totally bang (or let bang me) any being that I found on that awesome space rocket corpse vessel?Let me put my light into you, or you put it in me, whatever, you carbon fiber encrusted cosmic crypt kicking cowboy!

barrenpines A gorgeous masterpiece, endlessly inventive and gripping, and constantly delivering moments of pure splendor. It continuously breaks boundaries, using a wider sonic palette than I've ever seen on a metal album (with plenty of shoegaze vibes and beautiful reverb here, along with varied, powerful vocals). I finished my first listen of this album with my brain buzzing and with a burning desire to share the experience. Favorite track: Earthborn Elegy.

Year Zero 08:02
We took too long to reach the sky, Yet here we stand – a burning world. Through all this there was nothing, Nothing to say… And in the end, we could not save her. Our endless sky above came crashing down. Our oceans, so deep – bereft of life. How I used to fear the black of night, But now it’s all that we have left of her. Run away from the end of the world, Where the ashes are falling like snow. In escape now, set sail on a road of sorrows, From which we’ll never break from. It was us who set the earth on fire, But we won’t be here to watch it burn, We will watch the sun from a new horizon, It’s a lesson that we’ll fail to learn. As those left now turn away, We’ll be gone without a trace, Wrath, greed, hate, and violence, Have somehow now found their way into space. As the heavens open up, We’re breaking on through! An endless destiny, Returns with a familiar force to, Pull us all in it again! The power that man seeks, The dominion he claims, The sword he wields - It’s all still the same. With hatred in his eyes, In violence he dies! It’s still the same, And no – nothing will change.

Cut from roots we float away,
Severed from the break of day.
Walls of grey entomb what's left,
 Of a humanity bereft.

In an ark adrift from home,
Trapped inside this starless dome.
Doomed to wander endless space,
All the ties that bind erased.

No shelter…
 No shore…
 No summers…
 No more…
 Negated…
 We're nothing…
Searching for something… To fill this void!

 What have we all done,
 What have we become,
What have we all done,
What have we begun?

Samsara 08:04
The storm inside swept out in sight.
The loss of all that had been home.
Remove the soot from your eyes,
And face the sorrow that led you here.

 Arise! You orphaned few here.
All lies! An end to suffering.
Arrive! You crash upon this world.
Don't cry! Your cries won't bring you home!

 (...are we alive...)

 Turn from the sky,
 You're not alone,
Give up all hope of your old life!

No time to mourn,
 You are alive,
Give up the ghost, take up the knife!

Born into the deep, a space between. A home unknown to me In memory. Your flesh, my blood, a future returning, Like the dawn upon the fields now flooding. Are we to live on here for you? Through the nights, Prevailing through the tears? A new spark of life brings in light to your dark, But odes to a dead dawn mean nothing to me. A great divide separates me from you, A distance of colors and songs in the wind. The world you once knew cannot be for me, I am a native to darkness and stranger to thee. How do we stay the same flesh for very long, When reared in a chamber of iron, With no days to keep? Rain does not fall, No grass grows, No woods tall… Cloudless the sky, No birds fly, Stars alone… (We are alone – are unknown – not your own)

Light Tomb 08:53
Estranged from dawn, Nomads we are. Orphaned to light Driftwood through the night. We are no children of men. We do not cry nor pretend, To be the heirs of a world never known. (No!). No sun nor moon in our skies The starry night meets our eyes, And it stretches beyond any lines. A new thing emerged, From absence come forth, In nature transformed. Forged in the night, Born into flight, Condemned to fight, Never to be whole! Flowing red on rivers of blood, we sail. Shining steel, the knives in our hands, Sunk in hearts Broken bones and skulls pave the road to homes – Still to come False hopes becoming stones in a wall of dead wombs Your light tombs. (We turn eternally home, Like driftwood we roam...) Turn to the sea! Turn to the sea!
